The Space Aliens Benefit

First off Kelly and I (Chance) would like to thank Space Aliens Bar and Grill in Waite Park MN for allowing us to have an all day benefit dinner. We are currently not sure the total funds raised but we feel as if it was rather successful. Along with Space Aliens we would like to thank everyone that attended our benefit and made it as successful as it could be. Thank you! We would also like to thank everyone that made donations directly to us and anonymous donations in our donation boxes. Special thanks to our friend Randy and our family members and friends that made the drive from their home to show their support!

As for us and our training, we continue to training hard indoors just waiting for the weather to warm up and clear the roads for riding. Our workouts consist of cardio five days a week along with regular strength training. Thanks again for everyone's continued support!

Back in Aberdeen for the week

Hey everyone, this last week I (Chance) was in Aberdeen doing a little campaigning for our cause and rounded up a some cash donations to help us purchase gear and other equipment needed, thanks to all those individuals that helped us out!! I also picked up another sponsor, Charlie Mehlhaff the owner of the Subway restaurants in Aberdeen, and I am in negotiations with a couple others. I also spoke with the local radio station in Aberdeen, Dakota Broadcasting 107.5 and 105.5 FM for all you SoDak people. Finally I got an interview with the Aberdeen American News, so you should all check that out by clicking on the link under the Media title. Thanks again to everyone for their continued support! Keep it up and we will continue to work hard and don't forget about our benefit dinner at Space Aliens on Feb. 22nd!!

Gettin' in Shape!!

Well Kelly and I have begun to kick the workouts into high gear. Trying to workout in the gym four to five times a week. We've been working on our cardiovascular strength the most with a combination of stationary bike riding, wind sprints, stairs and swimming, along with jogging, cross-country skiing and some good old pond hockey! Just the other day we went to Afton Alps and went on a couple hour skiing adventure. It was such a beautiful day and we even saw a deer which let us get really close and take some pictures. Thanks again for following our progress we will continue to train hard and keep you all up to date. We just can't wait for it to warm up and get out and hit the road!!

Our new sponsor is Space Aliens, they have offered to give us 25% of the proceeds of our benefit dinner day. We receive 25 cents of every dollar paid by patrons that bring in our flyer and eat at Space Aliens on Sunday February 22nd. Happy New Years!!

Happy New Years to everyone!! Well our holiday went well, we hope that all of yours we just as wonderful! I (Chance) finally graduated from college, to bad the job market is not so good but I'm staying optimistic, I still have an exciting spring/summer coming up and I'll just keep working the job I have now. Kelly and I spent time with both families and had a pretty good time. The New Year celebration was pretty uneventful unfortunately, since I had to work the first at 10am. As for activities and training. Kelly is still going to the gym on an almost daily occurrence. I unfortunately have ran out of a gym membership due to graduating and have been forced to do a workout at home and run in the cold but that's ok. We have been able to make it out a few times skiing and even went sledding with the roommates. Finally got my cross-country skis up to St. Cloud when my parents visited but haven't had a chance to use them yet. As for preparation for the trip we are getting back on the horse and sending out more funding request and information letters to people. We are also planning a couple benefit dinners so I will let everyone know about the time, date and restaurants that are willing to help us. Thanks again for all your support!!

Tis the Season

Hey everyone as we all know as it gets closer to the holiday season it is getting colder and Kelly and I are really looking forward to some snow fall so we can get out of the gym and do some fun activities outside. We are planning on skiing as often as we can. Kelly will be teaching lessons at Powder Ridge Ski Area so we should have plenty of opportunities to go skiing. We are also looking forward to snowshoeing and renting Nordic skis from Revolution Cycle and Ski and getting on the trails. So we will continue to make the best of the season and continue working towards our goal in May. Thank you again for your continued support!
